Very interesting story and thank you for your ability to be vulnerable and share this. I'm wondering what the muscle relaxant that you were on is called because, many years ago, I was on a muscle relaxant that I went through withdrawal from and it caused me to go into a semi-dissociated state, where I didn't feel connected to myself or my body and once I was able to read the withdrawal side effects, I saw that it could cause dissociation which was a relief because it meant I might get over it and, than God, I did. I'm really glad you are better and taking care of yourself.

My advice is to avoid ordering paella in random restaurants in any city that has lots of tourism in Spain. More often than not it won't be great, particularly if they have pictures of the paella on the menu or in big signs outside. People there know most tourists and foreigners in general don't know typical spanish dishes except for paella, so they include it in the menu to draw them in even though paella is not a typical food of that specific city, and they aren't great at making it. Paella is a typical dish from Valencia. You can probably find good paella in most cities, but you have to know where to look. What I recommend however is ordering food that is typical from, or common in, the city you are in. So the best option is choosing restaurants that are full of local people (remember to go there at the proper time to get lunch or dinner in Spain, otherwise you won't see most places full). Food will be cheaper and better. This advice applies to any country that has a lot of tourism when it comes to their typical dishes.
